showing the storefronts of Carl Kaestner & Theod. Weichold (among others),
postcard mailed
there 1902 to Chicago but stamp removed thinning a back corner & creating a small tear, arrival cancel ink on front, corner wear & rounding, small corner crease.
The full name of the city is Sorau in der Niederlausitz. Sold but still available for scholarly
study & research as a full-size & enhanced 72-dpi scan in .jpg or .tif format.

KEARNEY. "Kate Kearney's Cottage Killarney." with 3 horse-drawn vehicles nearby, unused color postcard printed in Germany for publisher Lawrence (8207), back paper starting to brown evenly with age (circa 1905 - 1910), minor edge wear & surface cracking can be seen on the front, tiny scraped area at the top right front corner. The cottage was an illegal drinking house in the 19th century, but a nearby shed is now a legal pub! $4.50 ihga

"ELECTROLUX® / Red Carpet SERVICE / ...any make vacuum repaired / ..." with wonderful art depicting a lady whose vacuum cleaner is spouting dust from several places, 1978 copyright, unmailed, from sales representative Lorene Landau. A modern design classic, pertinent information on the back, excellent condition. $7.50 ag
LANGGUTH. "Makes you look like a Millionaire. Won't cost much either. Ask us: Reitz & Langguth / 2769 W. 25th St., 4279 Pearl Road, S. W. Makers of Smart Clothes" showing the proprietors (Mathew Reitz and Phil Langguth) standing in front of their store, unused color litho-chrome postcard, fairly fresh with good edges. Necessarily pre-1913 when their firm was dissolved. Truly rare. $50.00 o(c)ggf& NEW / NEU / NOUVEAU
LEVALLEE. "A FIFTY MILE / SIGHT SEEING / TRIP / ON THE / U.S. MAIL BOAT / UNCLE SAM" regular-postcard size booklet in 4 panels, explanation inside gives list of landing times at the various islands (Loon Island, Pine Island, Bear Island, etc.) for the floating post office captained by Edward Levallee, corrected to remove reference to Eastern Standard Time. 4 small silvery remnants from former mounting at corners obscure nothing, small residue from tape at top center of one panel. Captain Edward Levallee operated the mail boat until 1927. Also included: a small photo of passengers on board at a dock, with handwritten caption on back 'The Mail Boat Delivering / & taking on mail at / one of the islands in / Lake Winnepesaukee", also with small silvery remnants at its corners. Both items for $15.00 n(l)gs(l)-n!
LIGGETT. "Dr Robert Liggett of Circleville proudly / displays his 531-pount giant, winner of the 1994 Circleville Pumpkin Show. ..." unused chrome post card in near-mint condition. $1.50 og LIGGETT. "Look no further for the 'great pumpkin'. This record- / breaking 1,353 pound giant was grown and exhibited / at the 2004 Circleville Pumpkin show by D. MILLER. "Eureka No. 36 Mine, Windber, Pa. / Motors and tracks" including miners & a DANGER sign in the foreground; color postcard mailed at Hooversville in 1913 to Mrs. Orland Miller of North Cuba New York (by her daughter), mild corner rounding, two corners creased (one conspicuously).
