"VERMONT & REXFORD BLUE ISLAND" meaning the intersection of Vermont
Street & Rexford Street, looking toward the Klein Elevator (which fronted on
the Rock Island tracks) & a Pillsbury ad sign; an early auto, early truck &
horse-drawn wagon prominent, slight curl to the paper. Sepia-tone AZO
(triangles both ways) real photo post card with crisp focus & contrast,
oxidation consistent with age, light toning along one short back edge,
trivial corner rounding. The Klein family traces its history there back to

BRIDGEPORT (LAWRENCE COUNTY). "Fire Engine Bridgeport Ill" a wagon pulled by
two horses, standing outside the J. C. Whittaker dry goods store, a dentist
sign in the distance; sepia-tone real photo postcard.

CALUMET HARBOR. "1633 Boat Landing,
Calumet Harbor." in Illinois, including people & an old auto nearby the
small steamer Thistle; color postcard published by E. A. Bishop, mailed at
Oshkosh Wisconsin in July 1911 by a lady commenting on the 'dandy weather'.
She was lucky: later, in a November 1913 storm that took several ships, the
grain-laden Thistle perished at this very landing! Small upper corner
crease, small bottom corner crease that is hard to detect from the front.

only legible sign, showing a crowd gathered around a lengthy electric
interurban train that had stopped there; unused sepia-tone AZO real photo
(triangles point up) postcard. Pencil writing on back puts location at
Concord Michigan. We disagree: the Macoupin County coroner reported in 1910
(about the time of this postcard) that a George Dorsey fell to his death at
Harry Bycroft's barn; and Bycrofts live to this day in Gilespie. Probably
one of a kind, because there is no caption & no attribution to a
