Published by Robbins Brothers (their number 9712 on back). This is the second USS Maine (BB10). The original USS Maine had two main turrets en echelon, rather than on the centerline; the forward turret was to starboard, the aft turret to port; she had two funnels and a foremast well forward of the superstructure.     USS WEST-MADAKET. "U.S.S. WEST-MADAKET  In the Port of Rotterdam / 1-18-19" unused real photo postcard, image printed at an angle to the edges, noticeable edge wear & toning both sides. Commissioned in late October 1918, this was her first (delivering flour) of only 2 trips in World War I; decommissioning was in May 1919. We doubt there are many photos of this ship from that brief period in existence.
