AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL AIRWAYS. Unused regular size postcard
showing its Douglas DC-4-1009 Skymaster flying over Melbourne Victoria, pertinent
information under the caption, paper lightly browning with age, obviously airline issued
(logo at bottom front center), trivial corner wear. On 26 June 1950 this plane crashed
shortly after taking off from Guildford Airport in Western Australia. Only one passenger
survived; the other 28 souls aboard perished. Postcard sold. Still available for scholarly study & research as an enlarged (about 400% of original print area) & enhanced 144-dpi scan in
